The landscape of the Indian automotive industry is changing with central and state govt. announcing schemes and incentives to promote electric mobility. But changing from IC engines to electric motor powered engines won’t be as easy as it sounds because of the challenges faced like the lack of electricity produced from renewable energy. lack of charging infrastructure, and high initial cost.     The electric SUV launched by Tata is an electric version of the compact SUV offering by the company which saw a great response from the buyers. The EV comes with a facelifted Nexon that you can now find in the regular Nexon as well. The car uses Tata’s Ziptron EV powertrain technology which features a 30kWh lithium-ion battery with an IP67 waterproof rating. With a claimed range of 312 km, the car gets a standard 8-year warranty. The electric motor delivers a power of 129 PS and 245 Nm

    The battery can be charged from 0-80 in just 60 mins, while a home wall charger that comes in the box takes 8 hours to charge it from 20 to 80 percent. The car features a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic AC and headlamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system

    For India, the car comes with 100 kW motor with a 39 kWh battery pack that produces 136 PS of power which has a range of 452 km per charge. The car can be charged with a fast charger that takes the battery from 0-80 in just 57 minutes whereas the home unit takes 6 hours and 10 minutes for a full charge. The car can be driven in 4 modes- Eco, Eco+, Comfort, and Sports. The car comes with airbags, ESC, disc brakes on all 4 wheels, vehicle stability management, and hill assist control.
