For someone whos’ been looking for the
luxurious people mover, the options were limited to the likes of the reigning
champion of the segment, Toyota Innova, Tata Hexa, or the Mahindra Marazzo for
a very long time. If someone wanted to take their family on a luxurious road
journey they would either have these options or would have to opt for the
Mercedes V- Class which starts from 69 Lakhs (Ex-showroom) and goes all the way
up to 1.69 Cr (Ex-showroom), which is an expensive buy.
Exterior
Kia Motors realised the big gap in the segment
and bridged it with its Kia Carnival. The car is over 5 meters long which makes
it bigger than the Toyota Innova but a bit smaller than the Mercedes Benz V
Class. It is wider than both the vehicles but only shorter to the Toyota
Innova. It has the trademark tiger-nose grille with wrap-around headlamps that
house twin projectors with DRLs which are situated above the ice-cube fog lamps
surrounded by chrome. The overall setup gives it a wide stance.
The car has large window areas that look to be
wrapped around the entire car with D pillars blacked out.
Interiors
With all 3 rows up it has the boot capacity of
540 liters which you can expand to a massive 2759 liters based on the variant.
The third row has a smart mechanism that helps fold the seats. The pilot seats
in the second row are adjustable sideways as well which makes ingress and
egress easy for the third-row occupants. The third-row has enough legroom and
headroom to comfortably seat a person who is above 5 ft 6 inches tall with the
seats reclinable as well. Normally not paid much heed to, the third row in Kia
Carnival is also fitted with cup holders, charging ports, sun blinds, and the
ac vents as well. The middle row gives you a range of options to adjust the
seat as well and makes your traveling luxurious.
