At first, when you look at the deal it becomes difficult for you to believe that the new Skoda Rapid Rider has been prized for just INR 7.49 (ex-showroom). This car has now become the most affordable car by Skoda on offer in the country. And not just that, it is also the most affordable car from the Volkswagen Group stable with a TSI engine, even toppling the previously most affordable car with the TSI engine- Volkswagen Polo TSI.

The car comes with automatic climate control, halogen lamps, 2-DIN music system with 4 speakers and Bluetooth, central locking, power windows with one-touch up/ down operation, rear defogger, electrically adjustable ORVMs, adjustable headrests front and rear, rake and reach adjustment, centre armrests for the front and backseat passengers, rear AC vents, and full wheel covers. The car doesn’t compromise on the safety of the passenger either because it comes with a safety kit that includes 2 airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, and height-adjustable seatbelts. There is however one strange restriction from the company that is hard to understand- the car can only be bought in Candy White or Carbon Steel.

A car that has not seen any fundamental changes to its exteriors or interiors sine the car was launched in 2011, the main highlight of the car comes from under the hood. The engine has been updated for the BS6 norms and ditches the old yet punchy 1.5-litre diesel engine and the ageing 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine for a powerful 110 bhp 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol that is mated to a 6-speed manual. Other alternate options that you can look for are Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXI or Honda Amaze V in the sedan category or Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha, Hyundai Elite i20 Sportz+, Tata Altroz XZ, Toyota Glanza V.
