Showcased back in 2018 Auto Expo, the TVS
Zeppelin even before its launch confirmation has already become a much-awaited
bike. The cruiser bike has been made by TVS to challenge the Bajaj Avenger that
is the lone standing bike of that segment. It is also the only cruiser that has
been doing well in the market since it enjoys the monopoly. You might point out
at the Suzuki Intruder but the bike lacks the appeal and the power to compete
with the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise.
Design
Design
The design and the body of the bike looks
modern with the paint scheme improving the dynamics of the bike. Instead of
using chrome on the bike, they have used a lot of matte black elements. It
gives the chrome a total miss. A thing that makes the bike stand out is the
gold suspension that the bike gets along with a straight handlebar, LED
taillamps, forward set footpegs, and bar-end mirrors. The pillion seat of the
bike is lower and more accessible.
Engine and Performance
The bike is expected to be equipped with a
220cc single-cylinder oil-cooled and fuel-injected engine. The power on the
bike can be expected to be around 20-22 max bhp and with the torque figures
could be around 18 Nm. The engine will come with 5-speed gearbox and a slipper
clutch.
The bike will have 17-inch front wheels while the rear wheels will have 15-inch tyres with Apache 200’s 270mm disc front game in the front and 240 mm discs in the rear with dual-channel ABS on offer. The bike is expected to be priced between INR 1.2-1.25 lakhs (ex-showroom).
