Welcome the new design language that we have been seeing on all new Honda cars. The car is expected to arrive in the showrooms soon after a massive delay due to the pandemic. The new Honda City, an iconic brand in its own way, will have more focus on comfort, space, performance, and technology. The car comes in a better skin than before and resembles the civic. The nose of the car has a huge band of chrome with a matt finish towards the lower end while the air intakes and bumper cuts make it look sportier. The car, however, gets a shorter wheelbase than the current model by 11 mm and gets the same size of tyres.

As the crash test norms have been getting stricter, the companies have made changes to their designs and crumple zones, making the blind spot near the size mirrors an issue with some models. Honda has however made a good move by mounting the side mirrors on the door to reduce the blind spot which has significantly reduced the blind spot. The rear gets a one-part wrap around 3D taillight that reminds us of old Honda cars. The car has an ASEAN (New Car Assessment Program) NCAP safety certificate with the sedan getting 5 stars and 86.54 points.

The interiors of the car have been refreshed. The company has included soft-touch materials on the inside with great quality maintained on every part included in the cabin. The material feel plush and offer a great fit and finish which is a big step forward from the previous version. The car, however, gets a conventional instrumental cluster with a black and white screen.

The company has surprisingly updated the old model with a BS-6 engine, which means that the car is here to stay. Yes, the company has decided to keep both the models in the brochure without making the older one a fleet vehicle as a common practice seen with Maruti with their DZire and Hyundai with Xcent/Aura. With a hefty discount available on the older model with the BS-6 engine, the company is expecting the sales for its iconic brand car to go up.
